Service Technician

Main area of Responsibilities:

Perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service as detailed per product warranty guidelines, company policy or Service Managers instruction.

Key Job Functions:

A Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:

  • Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
  • Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
  • Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems
  • Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
  • Ordering parts needed as part of warranty service
  • Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to the dealer product range
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
  • Ensuring the safe work practices of all Apprentice staff
  • Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to guests
  • Use all protective equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the customers vehicle (Seat Covers, Floor Mats, Fender Covers)
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of technicians hand tools to meet the service & repair requirements
  • Ensure all guest requests on the RO are completed to a high quality standard
  • Identify and advise the Workshop Controller of any additional repair items found
  • Request Workshop Controller to carry out final inspection of all work completed
  • Transcribe clear accurate account of all work completed onto the RO
  • Carry out general house keeping duties as required

 

Apprentice Technician

Main area of Responsibilities:

The main focus of an Apprentice Technician is to carry out a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service as detailed per product warranty guidelines, while training with qualified technicians.

Key Job Functions:

The Apprentice Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:

  • Basic servicing and repairing the mechanical parts of vehicles such as the engine, transmission (clutch, gearbox, differential), and the suspension systems (springs, steering, wheels, brakes and tyres)
  • Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
  • Minor repairs to the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems
  • Installing optional extras to new vehicles as required
  • Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
  • Ordering parts needed as part of warranty service
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
  • Use all protective equipment to maintain the cleanliness of the customers vehicle (Seat Covers, Floor Mats, Fender Covers)
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of technicians hand tools to meet the service & repair requirements

Mobile Servicing Manager

Main area of Responsibilities:

At Albany Toyota we are seeking to further expand our mobile service offering to our Guests through the appointment of a dedicated Mobile Servicing Manager.

The role will need to be filled by an energetic enthusiastic and well organised individual who enjoys their work, is happy to develop ongoing relationships with Guests and is hungry for success.

The creation of this role is a natural extension to the work already undertaken by us in this area and we now need to take this business opportunity to the next level.  There will be excellent support to ensure a successful and profitable outcome and it now only needs the right person to fill it.
